At the IFA 2026 event in Berlin, audio tech company EarFun unveiled its latest flagship product, the Wave Pro X over-ear headphones. These headphones are engineered with a combination of dual-driver audio technology, hybrid active noise cancellation, AI-based processing, and a remarkably long battery life. EarFun’s DCAA acoustic architecture integrates two independently tuned dynamic drivers with high-purity voice coils to deliver a broad soundstage without sacrificing audio detail across frequencies.
To tackle external noise, the Wave Pro X employs an advanced system featuring an eight-microphone array and real-time processing. The hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) system intelligently adjusts to environmental conditions, ensuring a peaceful listening experience whether users are enjoying music or other audio. Battery longevity is another highlight, with the headphones offering up to 90 hours of playback, reduced to 50 hours when ANC is active. Impressively, a mere 15-minute charge can extend playback by an additional 10 hours.
Designed for comfort and convenience, the Wave Pro X features foldable memory-foam earcups suitable for prolonged use. Connectivity is versatile, with Bluetooth multipoint for seamless switching between devices, and a 3.5mm wired connection option that includes a hi-res audio bypass. EarFun CEO White Wang emphasized that the Wave Pro X was crafted to enhance multiple aspects like sound quality, noise cancellation, comfort, connectivity, and battery efficiency, rather than honing in on just one feature.
In addition to the Wave Pro X, EarFun gave a sneak peek of its forthcoming Air Pro 5 true wireless earbuds. These earbuds are expected to come with enhanced sound tuning, active noise cancellation, and adaptive processing. EarFun collaborated with engineers from Bose Corporation’s Audio Technology division for the acoustic engineering aspects of the ANC, including modeling, tuning, and validation.
